Schubert Week

In January, the Liedakademie's scholarship holders are guests at the Schubert Week in Berlin, curated by Artistic Director Thomas Hampson. In closed and public master classes with the artistic director and other lecturers such as pianist Susan Manoff, they delve deeper into the work of Franz Schubert, one of the greatest song composers of all time. The programme also includes concert performances in one of Germany's most exciting new concert halls. All events will be livestreamed and offer the young artists the opportunity to gain extensive experience in front of the camera.

In addition to the presentation of the current Liedakademie class, former Liedakademie scholarship holders will also return to the Schubert Week and perform on stage together with greats of the Lied scene such as Wolfram Rieger, Julia Kleiter, Malcolm Martineau, Hartmut Höll and Gerold Huber.
