Cuarteto SolTango
Astor and His Brothers

The 1940s and 1950s were considered the golden era of tango, even before Astor Piazzolla shook up the whole scene with his Tango Nuevo. The Cuarteto SolTango is dedicated to this old, multifaceted tango repertoire, which has since been overshadowed by Piazzolla, from Aníbal Troilo and Lucio Demare to pioneers of tango nuevo such as Horacio Salgán and Osvaldo Pugliese. With its unique combination of violin, violoncello, bandoneon and piano, it is based on the juicy and powerful sound of the old Argentine tango orchestras, but at the same time has the entire expressive palette of transparent chamber music timbres. With their "Misión Tango", the four musicians delight everyone, regardless of whether they are classical music fans or tango aficionados.
