Kebyart Saxophone Quartet
So Close to Heaven

The sound of their four saxophones is heavenly, almost beguiling. To thunderous applause, the four Catalans of the Kebyart Saxophone Quartet are currently conquering international concert stages with their programmes of original literature, their own arrangements and commissioned works. Her Heidelberg program includes "heavenly music" ranging from uplifting choral music to Purcell's viol fantasies and an astonishing arrangement of Clara Schumann's "Pièces fugitives". Even Jörg Widmann, once rather skeptical of the genre, was enraptured by the quartet's sound culture. His "7 Capricci" and a new composition by the Catalan Mikel Urquiza are the icing on the cake of this concert.
