Under the motto "Liberated Time", the Musikfestival 2025 invites you to take a break from everyday life for three weeks and experience special moments of deceleration. One focus is on the two composers Franz Schubert and Steve Reich and their works with original time arrangements. A highlight is the only German performance of all five piano concertos by Sergei Prokofiev on three evenings by Igor Levit with the Budapest Festival Orchestra under the direction of Iván Fischer.
The Streichquartettfest will be 20 years old in 2025 and is dedicated to Helmut Lachenmann, who will also be celebrating an anniversary in 2025: his 90th birthday. The works of this great composer of our time are juxtaposed with those of Béla Bartók and Ludwig van Beethoven.
