The two Korean sisters Soo-Jin and Soo-Kyung Hong and the Danish pianist Jens Elvekjaer have been playing together as Trio Con Brio Copenhagen for 25 years. To mark the anniversary, the composer Louise Alenius has written a new work, which can be heard here again after the Berlin premiere in January. The Trio Con Briohas long championed the music of Mieczysław Weinberg, a Polish Jew who, unlike his family, escaped the Nazis and the Holocaust and lived in exile in Russia. War and persecution are very present in his piano trio from 1945. Schubert's second piano trio, on the other hand, seems to overflow with musical richness, but also has its dark sides. The highly emotional second movement is based on a Swedish folk song in which all hope fades as the sun sets.
